WALK-GREECE
Athenian Mountain Walks

Mt. Parnitha in Attica THE MOUNTAINS OF ATTICA
The city of Athens nestles on the plain of Attica unfortunately now almost swallowed by massive urban growth. The plain is ringed by the three massifs of Imittos (1,026 m), Pendelli (1,109 m) and Parnitha (1,413 m). Although not high, all three of the Attica Mountains are relatively easy to reach from the center of Athens and are a pleasure to visit due to their natural charm and beauty.

There are a number of well-marked walking routes on all three peaks, the upkeep of which is the responsibility of members of the Greek Alpine Club. The visitor will be surprised at the diversity of the walks available and depending on the walkers experience, a route to suit almost every taste will be found. A list of suitable walks is included below:

WALKS IN ATTICA
